One thing that drives me crazy!

One thing that drives my crazy, is when I see guys wearing lifting belts, when they are doing bicep curls or other light lifting. Take the damn belts off, they will not get you stronger of shrink your waist!

Belts are meant for back and core support when lifting heavy loads! Meaning in the 1-5 rep range. How do you expect to strengthen your core and lower back, if your always using a belt to support it? Squeeze your abs, tighten your back and lift with control!

Especially when I see young athletes in the gym with lifting belts and wrist support. My young people, let your bodies get stronger over time naturally through proper training and stop following these Instagram trends! The only exception to this rule, is your battling an injury, but even in that case I guarantee most physical therapist would suggest to leave the belts at home! And, if you are battling injury and need After 20 plus years of weightlifting and training, my favorite is from Flexz Fitness

My other rant, is guys who wear belts and think it is going to give them a tighter waist! C'mon man, the only way you get a tighter waist is by losing the fat around your waist! I’ve asked many well respected prep coaches about this, and they agree! I even had one coach tell me the only way to shrink your waist is to get the lower rips removed:(. Placebo effect? if you think it works wear it, but in the end put the work in and lose the fat! Also, instead of shrinking your waist, work on your weak ass back, and get it wider so your waist appears smaller💪🏽.
